Google [GOOG] has removed two applications from its Android Market, and also remotely removed the applications from Android users smartphones. Google has not revealed the names of the applications that were deleted.
What they did say was that the applications that were remotely deleted were ‘two free applications built by a security researcher for research purposes.’

The applications were ‘intentionally misrepresented their purpose in order to encourage user downloads, but they were not designed to be used maliciously’, said Google in a recent blog post.
Google said that the applications that were removed were not any threat to anyones security, and that most users had already deleted them shortly after downloading them.
