The square-shaped smartphone, Motorola FlipOut (previously known as Twist) has been officially announced and it’d be destined to the Europe starting this month, but seems to have no indication when it’ll reach the US.

The Moto FlipOut is meant to target at young users, it runs the Android 2.1 OS and is loaded with the MotoBlur UI which has interesting widgets such as “Happenings and Messages widgets” and Data Manager. The square-shaped handset weighs 120 grams but it’s rather thick, measures 17mm in thickness and packs a full 5-row QWERTY keyboard.
The square-shaped handset is also packed with features tailored for the social networking sites including integrations to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter etc. The device has a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, A-GPS, WiFi, e-compass, CrystalTalk PLUS, WebKit browser with Adobe Flash, 3-megapixel camera with Kodak perfect touch technology, headphone jack, Google services, 512MB internal memory, and a 2GB card.
The price of the FlipOut hasn’t been announced yet, but it did mention the device will be available in seven colors, which are White, Fairway Green, Poppy Red, Raspberry Crush, Brilliant Blue, Licorice and Saffron. Watch the clip below for more info.
