Motorola has introduced their ES400 EDA (Enterprise Digital Assistant), a Windows Mobile-based handheld device that runs the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. The ES400 EDA is a rugged handheld device that works pretty much like a rugged PDA but it also supports HSPA/3G and WiFi connectivity that makes it suitable for use in various work environments.
The ES400 has a 600MHz ARM11 processor, 256MB RAM, 1GB Flash memory. It also has a 3-inch PenTil 640×479 touchscreen, a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, barcode reader and a microSD card slot. The ruggedness of this device meets the military standard, the MIL-STD 810G drop, temperature, vibration and rain standards and exceeds the IP42 rating.
The device also allows you make call, as it packs tri-band HSDPA/HSUPA, quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band CDMA/EVDO radios. It also has WiFi, Bluetooth and aGPS. With the Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, it runs customizable Enterprise UI that allows always-on access to Enterprise applications. The features at a glance of the device are as follows:
