With Special Forces carrying more and more equipment that rely on battery packs for power, the most obvious problem when out in the field is how to charge these devices quickly and efficiently.
RAPS (Remote Auxiliary Power System) designed and developed by the US Air Force allow troops to charge their battery packs from power lines. Watch the video after the jump to see this new device in action.
Simply throw the RAPS over a power line and let it make a connection through the protective covering using a small blade. The AC supply is then converted to DC by a transformer at the other end of the RAPS allowing devices to be easily charged.
